We are ready to add an IT Systems Administrator to our team at our office in Anaheim, CA. This position will be in-office 5 days a week.
The Systems Administrator will serve as a technical expert on the Penhall IT team, support implementing projects and be responsible for the management of all on-prem, Azure and Microsoft 365 services. This position will provide top-tier assistance when necessary. Automating common tasks via PowerShell scripting is required. The successful candidate will not only be an organized, self-starting, quick learner but also show the ability to work as part of a team and feel equally confident in an unsupervised environment.
Responsibilities
The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by an individual assigned to this position. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Manage and administer on-prem and cloud infrastructure, including but not limited to networking, servers, Active Directory, Azure, Microsoft 365, Track IT, and cybersecurity programs.
  • Serve as the highest escalation tier for IT challenges, support network repairs, engage IT vendors (networking, SaaS, cloud platforms) with confidence, identify patterns and take preventative measures with future-minded solutions.
  • Manage systems maintenance plans and procedures (SOPs) ensuring ongoing tasks such as network/system performance monitoring, patching, and disaster recovery/backup testing are performed while always looking for improvement opportunities, automation, and simplification.
  • Champions best practices for cybersecurity by ensuring best practices including but not limited to MFA, least-privilege and conditional access are being followed.
  • Support IT Strategy by researching trends, identifying technical requirements, dependencies and replacing and upgrading existing systems.
  • Ensure all related procedures and policies (SOPs) are documented including diagrams, patching, DR, WAN/LAN security and license compliance information.
  • Configure and manage firewalls, switches, WAPs, VPNs, other network appliances.
  • Authors technical documentation using MS Visio, MS Word and MS PowerPoint.

Candidates having obtained the following will be highly desirable.

  • Bachelor's degree in computer information systems or related field, or equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience.
  • 5
    years of systems administration experience deploying and managing enterprise IT systems.
  • Microsoft 365 or MCSE certifications preferred.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft 365 ecosystem including Exchange Online Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
  • Azure AD, including synchronization methods, configuring enterprise applications, SSO, conditional access, group policy.
  • Microsoft 365 security best practices including Defender, Secure Score, and third-party configuration baselines.
  • Proofpoint - Daily Log checks and manage alerts.
  • CrowdStrike- Daily Log checks and manage alerts.
  • Cybersecurity measures and best practices, such as MFA, endpoint protection, firewall, intrusion detection, SSL, encryption, and PKI.
  • Cloud platform management (Azure preferred) and ability to design and implement redundant, scalable infrastructures and perform premise-to-cloud migrations.
  • Working knowledge with scripting (PowerShell preferred).
  • Managing and implementing endpoint deployment and configuration tools such as Automox.
  • TCP/IP networking including ability to configure DHCP, DNS and perform packet captures for data analysis and troubleshooting.
  • Complex and redundant networks with multiple sites, locations, subnets, WAN and VPN technologies.
  • Performing network audits.
  • Enterprise recovery solutions including implementation and testing (Veeam).
  • Firmware updates, OS/Hypervisor installation and rack/stack operations.
  • Storage platforms, SAN including RAID, iSCSI, data replication, block vs. file LUN.
  • Virtualization solutions (VMWare, Azure).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple, high priority projects with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal, problem solving, troubleshooting and customer service abilities.
  • Professional demeanor; team player orientation; ability to interface with internal and external parties.
  • Ability to perform duties under minimal to no supervision while exercising discretion and independent judgment.
  • Ability to be on-call beyond normal business hours and on weekends if needed.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
