Anaheim, CA Anaheim, CA Full-time Full-time $24 - $26 an hour $24 - $26 an hour SUMMARY OF POSITION Excellent opportunity for a dynamic person to join a cable manufacturing company as Supplier Quality Specialist in Anaheim, CA.
The successful candidate will have experience in performing supplier quality functions and identifying process improvement opportunities.
Working with the suppliers to develop corrective action plans due to process non-conformance.
The candidate will ensure that appropriate root-cause analysis and corrective actions are implemented, and quality data is trended and reported upon routine basis This position requires US-Person status as it includes access to technology and/or software source code that is subject to U.
S.
export controls under the ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and/or EAR (Export Administration Regulations).
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions:
Daily job responsibilities/functions to include, but not limited to:
o Analyze the root cause of non-conforming raw material complaints working as a liaison between purchasing, engineering, production, and suppliers to resolve supplier quality issues and to provide technical support when applicable.
o Perform local and global non-conforming raw material containment actions.
o Generate supplier non-conforming material complaint notifications, RMA requests and follows up to get closure.
o Generates, reviews, and closes supplier corrective action requests (SCARs) o Analyze supplier performance data, generate performance improvement actions, and manage the suppliers through continuous improvement process.
o Organize and execute the activities necessary to assure supplier's engineering change notifications or end of life notifications are documented and properly followed through in the company.
o Assure supplier compliance to regulatory requirements through supplier monitoring process.
o Develops and initiates programs to improve supplier performance as required.
o Strong quality mindset and knowledge of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing methods o Reviews and dispositions internal rejects for raw material o Participate in the development of specifications for equipment, products, or substitutes.
o Overseeing Suppliers FAI inspections/testing/submission materials to assure all requirements are met.
o Willing to learn and execute new supplier quality activities.
o Serves as back up for other supplier quality engineers working in remote factories.
o Works with DMR clerk to guide and support in non-conformant material notification to suppliers.
o Supports the incoming inspection team and helps as needed during demand ramp ups.
o Reports and monitors assigned KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) related to incoming the job and department.
o Participates in the research and training for new customers requirements related to the materials team.
o Develops and updates procedures/work instructions as needed.
o Other duties as assigned.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS &
Qualifications:
Experience:
o Minimum of 1-3 year in general work experience preferably in areas of supplier quality, quality control or quality assurance o In depth knowledge of current best practices in supplier development o Knowledge of quality best practices, production processes, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
o Knowledge of BOM management systems o Demonstrated experience working with a lean manufacturing environment.
o Desirable knowledge of cable, wires, and connectors suppliers Job Type:
