Job Description:
The Principal, Product Manager is responsible for managing the cost and schedule requirements of a product line offering through all phases from proposal to distributionAnalyzes and designs technical product enhancements, integrating the work of research and development, manufacturing, marketing, sales, and service functions for all or part of a new or potential product offeringsProvides strategic technical consultation to field personnel and customers during the early life cycle of new product offeringsProvides product consultation to research and development in the design stage of product offeringsMay plan, prepare, and present product introduction strategiesMay participate in the marketing, forecasting and financial aspects of the product offeringManages offering through each phase of the checkpoint processThe role will be hybrid with domestic travel
Essential Functions:
o Ability to work extended hours Works under consultative direction against annual goals and objectives.o Responsible for managing large, complex project initiatives of strategic importance to the organization, involving large cross-functional teams. Responsible for managing product development, product sustainment, and product production Communicates and influences leadership regarding matters of substantial importance to the function or business areaFrequently conducts briefings to senior leaders and customers.o Extensively analyzes problems to seek understanding of the root cause of the problem. Establishes tactics for group with short-to-mid-term impact on results (e.g., 1-2 years). Develop integrated master schedules using IMP, SOW and WBS. Perform Critical Path Analysis, Schedule Risk Analysis, and Schedule Metric Analysis Create High Level Schedule Charts for monthly Internal Program Reviews Makes/recommends substantial improvements to systems and processes. Utilizes Gantt, PERT, milestone charts, earned value management and other project management techniques to gauge progress and identify performance variances to facilitate focus and intervention on critical areas. Ensure compliance with internal program procedures and project control system guidelines. Work consists of making significant improvements of processes, systems, solutions, or products to enhance performance of job area. Recommends tactics and strategies that will directly impact the achievement of overall business or functional results. Work to influence others to accept individual or team's views or practices and changes to concepts, practices, and approaches.
Qualifications:
o Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experienceGraduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experienceIn lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.o Requires both advanced business knowledge and highest level of technical mastery in functional areaLeadership capability to guide business or functional teams without formal management role.o US Citizenship is required for this position. Secret Security Clearance is required for this position. Ability to travel 70% domestically Preferred Additional Skills:
o Advanced knowledge of project management Advanced Experience using Microsoft Project Advance knowledge of Earned Value Management Systems Advance communication skillso Advance problem solving skills Advanced business knowledge and leadership capabilitieso Fundamental technical expertiseo Fundamentals of Planning, with critical Path analysis and schedule risk analysis Ability to construct and manage to a WBS & SOWo Develop integrated master schedules using IMP, SOW and WBS. Ability to work in fast-paced environment with frequent demanding deadlines PMP certification desired. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
