Summary:
Protect the magic by preventing and mitigating risk at the Disneyland Resort.
The Risk Management Services team is comprised of Guest Claims and Workers' Compensation, and strives to build a world where there are no incidents or claims.
As a member of the well-rounded Workers' Compensation team, you'll play a critical role in supporting that work.
The Workers' Compensation Claims & Accommodations Assistant, in collaboration with all the resources available and as authorized by the Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist and Medical Only Claims Examiner, ensures the processing of any and all benefits vital to cure or relieve the effects of an occupational injury or illness is completed and take all reasonable efforts to verify a Return to Work for Cast Members within their occupational restrictions and effectively works within their assigned team, on behalf the injured Employee and provider to facilitate the Associate's recovery and Return to Work.
This is a highly interactive role that requires outstanding customer service and communication skills with an understanding of the importance of brand management.
Responsibilities Facilitating the interactive process and integrating with key partners for effective return-to-work administration.
Distribution of daily status reports related to restrictions/accommodations/lost time through the DDR inbox.
Monitoring and tracking changes to the monthly threshold list to verify changes and indicate when interactive process meetings are needed.
Coordinate and schedule meetings for the Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist, Employee and Area Leaders for the interactive accommodation process.
Communicate with employees regarding agreed upon accommodations, return to work plan, and method for supervising adherence and attendance Assist with updating, organizing and electronically filing job descriptions.
Ensure accurate maintenance of electronic case files/emails.
Strong interpersonal and digital literacy.
Strong written and verbal skills, comfortable making calls to cast members and sending emails.
Thorough understanding that role is subject to confidentiality and HIPPA laws.
Correspond with Claims Examiners to advise if Associate has been accommodated, so Claims Examiners can verify whether any payments need to start/stop, or if a voucher is due to the Associate.
Processing of payments including but not limited to medical bills, mileage, and reimbursements.
General knowledge of office machinery and calling trouble tickets for printers, scanners and fax in need of service or repair.
Provide clerical support for claims data management which includes, but is not limited to:
claim address changes, status screens in CARS, phone numbers, Last Day Work/Return to Work screens, Modified Work Screens, Legal Screens, and Maximum Medical Improvement status dates, contacts as applicable.
Minimal oversight of mail and processing USPS mailings which includes opening, date stamping, index, scanning, processing electronic fax documents (including Utilization Review letters) and processing paper faxes received on department paper fax, extension 1670.
Eye For Business Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in claims assisting occupational claims in California Proficient understanding of CA Workers' Compensation benefits.
Strong analytical skills.
Strong customer service skills required.
Must be willing to have a pleasant demeanor through telephone calls and emails.
Excellent time management skills demonstrated by the ability to prioritize multiple issues and ensure timely completion of work.
Proficient in use of automated claims management systems, paperless document management systems, and multiple web access portals, Microsoft office suite.
Bilingual - Spanish is a plus but not required.

The base pay actually offered may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
