? Coordinate and schedule daily work assignments for employees within the branch.
? Conduct regular team meetings and engage in the field daily.
Ensure that all work is performed safely and efficiently, following tree care industry best practices.
? Develop and manage various multi-year tree care plans that identify comprehensive tree maintenance and removals based on risk, health, and client requests.
? Regularly review new projects to assist and prepare proposals for tree work requests.
? Monitor inventory and ensure proper scheduled maintenance of all assigned equipment.
? Provide leadership and guidance to employees, including training and development opportunities.
? Communicate in real-time with leaders in your reporting structure as well as clients.
? Project a positive image and energy, while ensuring a culture of fairness and accountability.
? Promote a safe culture by proactively addressing concerns and thoroughly investigating every injury or near miss.
? Strive for continuous improvement, driving strategic measures to improve client service and operational efficiency.
Technical Knowledge ? Knowledge of ANSI A300 pruning standards as well as proper tree rigging/removal techniques.
? Ability to identify tree species, common tree pests and diseases, and assess tree risks.
? General knowledge in Integrated Pest Management (IPM) as well as horticultural and landscape-management techniques.
? Demonstrate knowledge in Urban Forest Management.
The Tree Care Manager will assist in making general assessments, developing recommendations, and managing tree inventories.
? Knowledge of industry safety requirements and policies including ANSI Z133, Cal OSHA, and Federal OSHA safety standards.
? Experience with Google Applications (i.
e.
Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Calendar).
Preferred Qualifications ? Arborist Certification(s) by the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) ? Tree Risk Assessment Qualified (TRAQ) based on the ISA standards.
? 3 or more years of leadership and technical experience in the Horticulture and Arboriculture industries.
? Comfortable with written and verbal communication to all audience levels and ability to present information to board members, committees, and potential clients.
? Basic budgeting and accounting skills.
? Experience managing Urban Forests that consists of a wide variety of tree species.
? Experience with Google Applications (i.
e.
Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Calendar).
? Working knowledge of a GIS tree management inventory system such as Arbor-Note.
? Bilingual (English/Spanish) Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required Note:
