The Controller of this growing company in Orange County will help manage the day-to-day accounting and reporting activities of the Company other than Revenue. This will include handling the consolidation, coordinating international reporting, and US accounting. The candidate must be comfortable working with a growing team and have private and publicly traded company experience.
Job Responsibilities
Managing month-end, quarter-end and year-end closings including consolidation
Develop, maintain and ensure technical accounting policies and procedures are in accordance with US GAAP.
Implement effective accounting policies and systems of internal control over transactional processes, including complex revenue recognition.
Timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules
Manage cash flow, cash balances and investments, including deposits, transfers and wire payments.
Prepare payroll and commission reports.
Serve as a primary functional resource to manage, troubleshoot and enhance the use of SAP and other accounting systems
Manage a Accounts Payable / Receivable, Payroll and General Accounting team
Assessing and implementing internal controls and procedures
Day-to-day point person for external auditors
Key member Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) team, working to ensure that all accounting processes and controls are properly documented and effectively working
Review monthly schedules, including accruals, pre-paid expenses, deferred revenue, fixed assets and depreciation.
Maintain compliance with local, state and federal tax jurisdictions, including state, local and use-tax filings.
Interface with outside audit firms, banks, casualty/liability insurance agents and credit card companies.
Administer accounting policies, budgetary controls and procedures.
Prepare budgets, including annual and quarterly forecasts.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, with at least 5 years progressively responsible experience, including at least 3 years of Controller and management experience.
Must be a CPA with Big 4 experience
Must have at least 3 years experience with an ERP
Experience in a manufacturing environment
Excellent knowledge US GAAP and internal controls
Strong computer skills: Excel, Word, Outlook
Organized, detailed and strong analytical skillsEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
