Meritus an Optimal Payments Company is currently searching for a Business Development Manager for our Strategic Alliance channel.
The Business Development Manager, Strategic Alliance is responsible for expanding the company?s partner base and driving Optimal Payments? expansion into new and existing markets and vertical industries with a focus on targeting Integrated Software Vendors (ISVs) and other software solutions.
### Responsibilities
Engage in business development activities to acquire new partners (integrated platforms, banks, software solutions) and expand the Company?s existing strategic alliance channel Solicit potential partners and new revenue sources through cold calling, networking and any other means to generate own leads.
Demonstrate a solid understanding of the Company?s online payment solutions, technologies and services. Maintain a clear understanding of current rules and regulations affecting the payments industry
Work alongside the Marketing department to identify new marketing opportunities such as new ideas for promotions, online advertising, direct marketing, web presence, trade shows, publications and product offerings. Provide input on competitive landscape.
Formal weekly updates to report progress, potential leads and overall sales pipeline.
Report to senior management on a monthly basis where you are with respect to budgeted quotas as well as communicate pipeline sales for the next 3 quarters.
Liaise with different internal departments to channel feedback and requirements, preferences and value-added features.
Represent Optimal Payments at industry trade shows and events.
### Education and Qualifications
University degree in Commerce, Business Administration or in an equivalent field of study.
Minimum 5 years of relevant sales and business development experience, specifically within the electronic payment processing industry in North America.
Experience selling Integrated Software Platforms.
Solid understanding of competitive landscape, of ecommerce and mobile payments solutions with a proven track record in generating new business and in exceeding your sales targets.
Ability to strategically select potential partners and focus on maintaining multiple sourcing alternatives to ensure a continuous pipeline of potential prospects for new business and revenue opportunities.
Availability for occasional travel to meet and network with clients in person, to represent the Company at various industry events and shows and to regroup for sales meetings at one of the North American offices.
Experience with Sales Force or other CRM systems
Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
