MERCHANT SUPPORT REPRESENTATIVE

Merchants use Meritus an Optimal Payments Company to process services ? trusted by businesses and consumers in over 200 countries to move and manage billions of dollars each year ? to simplify how they accept and settle credit card, direct debit and alternative payments.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Merchant Support Representative is responsible for providing Customer Service to our Merchants and Sales Partners which includes, but is not limited to:
Setting up new customer accounts
Handle inbound calls from Sales Partners and Merchants
Place outbound follow up or inquiry calls to Merchants and Sales partners
Open service tickets
Provide superior customer service by anticipating customer needs, suggesting alternatives and resolving customer issues in a timely manner under minimal supervision
Assist internal and external customers with merchant applications
Train and assist Sales Partners and Merchants on the use of equipment
Troubleshoot equipment issues
Program POS devices
Provides batch close-out assistance to Merchants
Help merchants with understanding statement content
Able to provide information about company products and services
Work well with and assist other team members with duties to meet service level agreements
Support other departments as needed
Other projects as assigned
SKILLS / ABILITIES / QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent; College degree preferred
Six months to one year of Payment Card Industry experience required
Takes initiative and consistently offers suggestions on improving service and process
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Consistently follow instructions, works collaboratively with others, gives / receives constructive feedback and positively influences others
Able to consistently perform in a high stress environment, under substantial deadlines
Works with minimal supervision
Thrives in a team environment

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
