Manager Financial Coordinator (Insurance)

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
The Financial Coordinator Manager is responsible for supporting General Managers' teams by directing and implementing activities to ensure that all patients treating maintain, obtain and retain insurance coverage. This position is the main contact for implementation of health plan contract changes, premium support and direct, front-line supervision of a team of professionals.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage the tactical execution of short- and long-term objectives through the coordination of activities with a direct responsibility for results, including costs, methods, and staffing.
Provide leadership, coaching and development plans for all direct reports to maintain an engaged and productive workforce; partnering with Human Resources on employee matters.
Technically proficient in the specific Medicare Secondary Payor Rules, Various Federal and State Insurance regulations, Marketplace and off-exchange plans and Employer Group Health Plan requirements. Must be familiar with COBRA rules and regulations and ensure that subordinates follow all applicable rules.
Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business and market trends. Has a larger range within the department and collaborate with other business functions in support of their goals.
Experienced leadership required for multi-faceted environment; role primarily focuses on tactical execution. Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals and independently and with minimal supervision, executes the plan to meet the goals and objectives.
Program or project responsibility generally within the function that may include other business functions to execute successfully. Manages the operations of one Division Group to direct impact on the patient population for that Group and ultimately increasing its profitability. Manages the coordination of activities of a section or department with direct responsibility for results, including costs, methods, and staffing. An individual contributor will have significant project/process responsibilities and the ability to define that project/process.
Follows processes and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Interprets and recommends change to policies and establishes procedures that effect immediate organization(s).
Decisions have an impact on work processes and outcomes. Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve results will add costs and may impact the short-term goals of the organization.
Frequently interacts with subordinate supervisors, customers, and/or functional peer group managers, normally involving matters between functional areas, other company divisions or units, or customers.
Participates and presents at meetings with internal and external representatives. Often leading a cooperative effort among members of a project team.
Interacts with internal departments and external customers; particularly in problem resolution. Acts as an advisor to subordinate(s) to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems. Responsible for hiring, coaching and counseling employees, including performance reviews, disciplinary action and terminations.
Provide technical guidance.
Assist with various projects as assigned.

SUPERVISION:
Manages subordinate supervisors and/or exempt staff ? experienced professionals who exercise latitude and judgment.
May be responsible for the direct supervision of various levels of Financial Coordinator staff.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required; Advanced Degree desirable
EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
6 ? 8 years' related experience.
3 years' supervisory or project/program management experience preferred.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
