Distribution Sales Manager/Mainstream Specialist - Orange County

The regional Distribution Sales Manager (DSM)/Mainstream Specialist position has responsibilities which include (but are not limited to) recruiting, training and managing authorized resellers to sell company products and services in geographic areas or named accounts and acting as company representative to resellers to maximize revenue through all salesoriented activities including value-add to products, support of sales promotions, advertising and marketing activities. The customer base includes both commercial and government accounts.
The successful DSM/Mainstream Specialist maximizes revenue and exceeds sales goals by managing the relationship between the customer, the Tektronix direct account manager and the reseller (distributor) in all sales-oriented activities.
These activities include high level executive meetings, customer demonstrations, seminars, certification training, prospect generation, and field marketing. The DSM/Mainstream Specialist is also expected to be a competitive products "sharp shooter" and train reseller account managers to best differentiate our products.
The successful candidate will have a strong desire for exceeding goals, maximizing income, and assuming responsibility for growing the business. The ideal candidate possesses the following skills, knowledge and experience: sales, negotiation, strong written and verbal abilities, time and territory management and organizational skills. Industry knowledge, digital and analog application knowledge, and basic business knowledge are key enablers. Experience in high level selling, public speaking, winning in competitive selling situations, problem solving, selling the product breadth, and working on teams is highly desirable.
Requirements include:
BSEE or equivalent training in technical area.
5 years of technical sales experience (preferably in test & measurement I monitoring equipment resellers).
Proven track record of sales results (preferably with test & measurement I monitoring equipment resellers).
US citizenship (required for access into secure government facilities)
Desired Attributes include:
Ability to learn test and measurement design methodologies including common measurements, test equipment operation, and applications.
Highly motivated and success-driven.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Excellent time management skills.
Due to US Department of Commerce export control regulations governing technical data of Tektronix products, Tektronix needs to know the citizenship of all its employees. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
