Aerospace Applications Engineer

Solvay?s established position as a market leader in the supply of aerospace composites solutions continues to drive the growth of its Application Engineering team to support the evolving demands of the industry\. This has been exemplified recently through numerous US OEM and Tier 1 development programmes which leverage Solvay?s proven track record of developing novel material and process technologies\.
Due to the gap this demand has created, Solvay is now actively recruiting an Applications Engineer to support its developments in this region\. This new role will sit within the Solvay Composite Materials business unit as part of the Research & Innovation organisation\. This position will support the development of material and process solutions for highly critical advanced aerospace structures which offer performance, economic and sustainability benefits to Solvay?s customers\.
Solvay offers a unique and dynamic approach to Research and Innovation and is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to strengthen its Aerospace Application Engineering team\.
The key responsibilities of this role are:
+ Support senior engineers with key customer development projects
+ Support and lead panel and demonstrator part builds from autoclave and out\-of\-autoclave prepreg, resin infusion and thermoplastic technologies
+ Identify and foster new automation processes for material deposition, forming and curing to support technology adoption on aerospace platforms
+ Support characterisation and producibility studies of new material developments
+ Interact with broader Application and R&I groups
+ Support simulation analysis and development for composite part manufacturing and structural performance
+ Promote Solvay technologies and articulate value proposition to customers
+ Assess technology gaps for future product and process development
+ Develop relationships with US Aerospace OEM and Tier 1 customer base
+ Support US driven development projects
+ Provide technical guidance in conveying the voice of the customer
+ Establish US industry network
+ Support US Aero Application Engineering capability plan
+ Knowledge of composite materials and related manufacturing processes \(prepreg, resin infusion and thermoplastics\)
+ 0\-5 years of experience in the composite materials field
+ Action driven towards achieving goals and results
+ Excellent communication skills
+ BS Degree required, Master?s degree preferable
+ Experience in modelling and simulation of composite part manufacturing and structural performance preferred

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
