Job Description
SUMMARY Under the direction of the Senior Estimator or Business Unit Manager, responsible for the coordination of specific components of construction projects and bid document management/coordination.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Coordinates proposals, bid package information and sub solicitation.
Post plans and specifications in bid software (Smart Bid, Grade Beam). Post Addenda as applicable.
Solicit subcontractors for applicable trades.
Contacting subcontractors to determine intent to bid.
Communicate with subcontractor regarding bid via phone and/or email.
Update bid software with subcontractors bid intention, including accepted, declines, etc.
Receive bids over fax or through email.
File bids into master file, database and physical job binder by trade/ scope.
Maintain database.
Composes and processes routine correspondence.
Make copies of correspondence or other printed materials.
Determine if company can respond to bid.
Communicate with vendor on bid via phone and/or email.
Track bid through bid software.

Required Experience
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
One year certificate from college or technical school; and a minimum of two years related experience or five years related experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical publications or government regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, managers, clients, customers and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Must have basic business mathematical skills, including ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or other forms.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Generally, normal office environment where noise level is moderate and temperature/humidity is controlled. Overtime may be required.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must possess advanced computer skills, including proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, electronic mail and scheduling applications. May require knowledge of applications specific to the department assigned.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
