Under general supervision, you will be responsible for the mechanical layout and packaging of power conversion equipment and other Navy based electronic systems. You will generate equipment layouts that satisfy system requirements and account for tradeoffs among thermal, mass properties, structural and manufacturing considerations.

Your day to day activities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Applies the Inventor 3D CAD system to create mechanical layouts and drawings.

  • Develops detailed fabrication and assembly drawings and performs tolerances analysis.

  • Designs interconnecting brackets and support structure between components and subsystems.

  • Assists the lead mechanical engineer in cost estimates and components selection.

  • Conducts simpler thermal and structural analysis under the guidance of lead mechanical engineers.

  • Provides engineering support to system integration efforts.

  • Coordinates and executes engineering design changes and performs some checking work.

  • Uses established and well defined engineering procedures.


Your education/experience includes:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from four-year college or university.

  • Must have 3 to 5 years experience and/or training in mechanical engineering.

  • Practical experience with computer aided design (CAD) and analysis software tools

  • Good communication skills

  • Able to obtain security clearance

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Electronics packaging mechanical design experience

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
