Location: Placentia, CA
Nalco, an Ecolab Company, a global water treatment leader, has an immediate need for an Field Service Tradesman / Installer / Water Mechanic Nalco Co.based in the California area. The Service Technician is responsible for the day-to-day progress and efficiency of any assigned jobsite(s). In concert with the Service Manager, the Senior Service Technician shall maintain accurate documentation, jobsite decorum, and executes system service, installation, repair, adjustment, and instrument calibration to the high standard of workmanship and excellence demanded by the company
Job Overview
Under the direction of the Service Manager, the Service Technician shall be responsible for executing all aspects of assigned service, installation, repair, adjustment, and instrument calibration including general construction, documentation, and customer relations.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Service Manager and supervise assigned projects
Communicate with customer, customer's agents, general contractor, and/or other trade contractors to ensure that all necessary information is communicated to the Service Manager to support favorable project completion
Check drawings, specifications, and documents, for accuracy
Participate in pre-installation Job Walk with Service Manager. Communicate installation layout specifics to Installation and Service Technicians
Maintain communication with the Service Manager to assure he is up-to-date on the project and involved with any system design related changes and/or client requests for changes
Conduct courteous and professional communications with the customer or his employees. Inform the customer of your arrival and departure. Provide answers to the customer's questions or direct the customer to the appropriate Nalco Cal Water sales representative
Display superior professionalism on the job site in conduct and communications to exemplify the high standard of workmanship and excellence demanded by Nalco Cal Water
Keep supervisors timely informed of all critical project related issues
Maintain excellent customer relations
Train assigned apprentice Service Technicians as needed
Assist with the more technical details of new installation, and existing installation changes, from on-site layout to completion including, instrumentation, controls, and wiring, performing plumbing in a variety or materials such as PVC, copper, polypropylene tubing, and high purity materials
Provide electrical connections from customer supplied outlets or disconnects, between controls and sensors. Verify equipment power requirements are consistent power source provided by customer
Perform disinfection/sanitization of complex plumbing systems, tanks and associated systems
Perform chemical cleaning of reverse osmosis membranes
Complete his installation work in the time prescribed by the Service Manager
Perform control setup on automated systems, control adjustment and repair, instrument calibration, instrument and control wiring
Perform complex troubleshooting, adjustment, and repair of automated and semi-automated systems, sub-systems, controls and instrumentation.
Manage jobsite cleanliness, use of company materials, and be responsible for minimizing material waste during installation (wire, brackets, fittings, misc. materials)
Take responsibility for the security, proper use, and routine maintenance of the vehicle, tools, and equipment issued for his/her use, including voltage meter, test kits, water quality meter, hand and electrical tools, vehicle fluid levels, vehicle odometer reporting, and other typical tools
Basic Qualifications
High School diploma, or equivalent
5 years of experience and the demonstration of a high level of proficiency as a Service Technician
Valid California Driver's License and good driving record
Preferred Qualification:
Bachelor's Degree, Chemical Engineering Preferred (Adomite: Chemical related background strongly preferred, process technology training a plus) Downstream: - Technical/Science/Engineering
years of successful technical service or field sales support experience
Experience working with MS Excel Spreadsheets
Must have a strong mechanical aptitude
Water treatment or specialty chemical industry experience
Working knowledge of boilers, cooling towers, and wastewater treatment systems.
Practical computer application literacy (including Microsoft Office Suite, and ability to learn internal business systems)
History of working in a field that required autonomy and self-motivation
Prior experience that required excellent communication skills
Prior experience that required excellent organizational skills
Prior experience that demonstrates a strong work ethic and ability to multi-task
Work Schedule
A 5 x 8 hr/day workweek schedule may include weekends. Overtime may be required.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
